Before explaining the PET board, let me first explain what is PET material ? PET is a type of resin plastic made of poly (p-phenylenediamine), which is commonly used in mineral water bottles, cling films, edible oil packaging bottles, plastic boxes, etc. This type of PET material is not only safe and environmentally friendly, but also non-toxic, and does not produce toxic or harmful substances or gases, meeting food grade safety standards.

PET board is not made of PET material, but mainly the PET film on the surface of the board substrate. Therefore, what we usually refer to as PET board is not actually a board, but a PET film with a thickness of 0.35-0.6mm. The thickness of the membrane is thinner for imported products and thicker for domestically produced ones.

This material does not contain any chemical or metal substances in its composition, and meets absolute food grade standards in terms of safety. The PET film itself is a type of resin material, and due to its unique characteristics and properties, it has achieved excellent wear and scratch resistance, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, yellowing resistance, compression resistance, high temperature resistance, and other aspects of the PET film, making it very stable.

From the perspective of factory processing, its physical properties are excellent, and during processing, there will be no problems such as edge explosion, cracking, or tooth burst. It can maintain excellent physical properties between -70~120 ℃.

Its anti fouling performance is also very good, and the surface is easier to clean and easy to manage. It is also an ideal material for kitchen cabinet door panels.

Matte PET board, also known as skincare PET board, has a smooth and delicate touch when touched, without leaving fingerprints, making it clean, tidy, and aesthetically pleasing.

Because the cost of PET is relatively high, many PET cabinet door panels on the market usually use melamine facing paper on one side and melamine facing paper with a thin layer of PET film on the other side. Although cost savings have been achieved, the uneven tension on both sides of the board can easily cause bulging and deformation. The best practice at present is to add PET film on both sides of the board at the same time.

Process details of PET board

Because the PET sheet is made by pressing the base plate and PET film through PUR flat pasting equipment, and the PET film itself is also made by high-pressure extrusion of PET raw materials, this processing method results in the PET film itself not having any inherent texture.

The common PET sheets are mostly solid colored, and some are stainless steel brushed, cloth textured, wood textured, leather textured, or stone textured. These textures or pattern effects require printing on the PET film and are not inherent. The thickness of common PET film is approximately 0.35-0.6mm.
